Annabelle DiVita, LSW
PSR Therapist
Annabelle earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Science in Social work from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to graduate school, Annabelle worked in a clinical psychology research lab where she coordinated clinical trials employing integrative behavioral interventions for various anxiety disorders and health-related behaviors.
Annabelle gained valuable experience in case management through internships at Downtown Austin Community Court and Northbridge Shelter. While working with individuals experiencing homelessness, Annabelle recognized the importance of targeting various dimensions of a person’s life to maximize well-being.
Annabelle provided individual counseling for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault before working at Sanare. She also co-facilitated a psycho-educational group that focused on developing emotional regulation skills, fostering healthy interpersonal relationships, and building the foundation of resiliency. It was during this time that her passion for helping trauma survivors emerged.
Annabelle believes that individualized care, empathy, and the power of human connection are key in promoting healing and empowerment.
Annabelle practices a holistic approach and feels that many modalities offer valuable skills and interventions that can be tailored to meet a client’s unique needs and strengths. Among her primary modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing.
In her free time, Annabelle finds joy through hiking, spending time with her family, and playing guitar. She also enjoys cooking, baking, and exploring new restaurants.
